CEM has chosen the Destin/Ft. Walton Beach area as the location for the 2009 Feast of Tabernacles. We announced another location, but due to housing constraints, made the decision to move back to the Florida Coast for 2009.

The Feast will be held in the beautiful Emerald Coast Conference Center on Okaloosa Island (Ft. Walton Beach.) The ECCC works well for the CEM Feast because of its layout. The ECCC has plenty of space for morning Church Services in addition to having rooms for many YEA classrooms, and three rooms for daily seminars.

Our decision to move back to Florida was made because of the abundance of housing in the Destin/Ft. Walton Beach areas.  Plenty of housing is available from the single hotel room to the five bedroom vacation home.  Because of CEM’s youth program (YEA,) accommodations for families is a must.  Of course any time Florida is mentioned, one can’t help but talk about beaches.  The Destin Area has about 24 miles of sugar white beaches and emerald green waters.  This area has earned praise by Southern Living readers, winning the magazine's Favorite Beach in the South award for eight consecutive years.

We will add more information to our Feast Web Pages as we continue our planning for the 2009 Feast.

For eight days in the fall of the year, Christians in our tradition pause to observe "The Feast of Tabernacles. We celebrate this festival because it is commanded of God and because we see a powerful Christian significance in the feast. For us, this is not merely a Jewish holiday, but one of the "Appointed Times of God," given to remind us every year of an important part of His plan and deepens our understanding of the work and ministry of Jesus Christ.

This feast is a family pilgrimage festival, that is a festival observed away from home. We go where God's people gather and for eight days we worship, rest, play and learn together. Every day includes an uplifting worship service where we glorify God in song, in the reading and exposition of Scripture and prayer. Each day also includes workshops, seminars designed "That the man of God may be proficient and equipped to every good work" and children's and youth classes. There are plenty of opportunities for Christian fellowship, with activities designed not only for fun, but for meeting new people and for bonding with new friends.

Come and keep the feast with us. Everyone is welcome and no prior reservations are required. We have plenty of room for you. Come and worship for one day or eight, but come. You will grow deeper in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
